Sharmarke

Sharmarke Yusuf joined the team in June 2017 as Program Manager.  Mr. Yusuf took over when the agency was going through tough transition. He has Master in Public and Non-profit Administration from Metro State University and Bachelor of Communication from Georgia State University. He has over 10 years’ experience working in the field of human services. Mr. Yusuf previously worked for Turner Broadcasting Network in media Operations department for several years.

Mohamed Abdi

Moahmed Abdi commonly known as (Abdidhere) started working for African Community Service in 2001. He held various positions within the agency such as Refugee Employment counselor, Housing Advocate and was a Supervisor for Elder program. Mr. Abdi is now a Senior Lead MFIP counselor. He was named the Best MFIP Counselor of the Year in 2015. Mohamed dedication to employment services and his client is like no other. He goes the extra miles to ensure clients are getting the best service possible. Mr. Abdi passion for helping others started long time he was a volunteer with Human Rights Commission in St Louis Park where they advise City Council on how to ensure equal opportunity and participation in housing and employment. He fluently in English, Somali, Arabic and some Swahili. In his spare time, Abdi enjoys exercise and love to read.

Fadimo

Fadimo Guled has been with African Community Service since 2012 as an MFIP employment counselor. She has a degree in Human Resource Management from Concordia University. She has attended numerous MFIP counselors trainings.  Fadimo’s love of helping others started during high school in San Diego, California where she volunteered at her local library and at San Diego’s International Rescue Committee. She enjoys teaching and advocating to new arrivals and is admired by clients and colleagues. She has experience working with diverse populations. “At African Community services we have an open door policy, any one that walks into our office will get help and that is why we distinguish ourselves from others” she says with smile on her face.   When Fadimo is not at work, she is a skin care artist and loves to travel.

Anab

Anab Ali started working for African Community Services in January 2018 as MFIP counselor. Previously she worked at Hennepin County as Financial Worker for over 8 years. She also worked as Mortgage processor for Wells Fargo bank. Ms. Ali brings wealth of wisdom to our agency. She passionately about helping people and goes extra miles to make that happened. She loves to shop and spend time with her family.

Imran Dagane

Imran Dagane joined African Community Services April 2017 as MFIP counselor. Mr. Dagane has Human Resource Development Degree from University of Nairobi.  He has wealth of experience working for number of humanitarian agencies UNICEF, Norwegian Organization and Turkish Cultural Center in Istanbul. “My vision is to empower people to be the best they can be.” He said.

Mohamud Yusuf

Mohamud Yusuf is a senior Counselor with Refugee Employment and Social Service Program since July 2015. He is also certified MNsure Navigator. Mr. Yusuf has a Bachelor Degree of GSIR (Global Studies and International Relations) from Ethiopia and currently to complete second Bachelor Degree in Human Services from Metropolitan State University by December 2018. He previously worked with United Nations Refugees Agency (UNHCR) in Africa and other non-governmental organizations before relocating to the United States. He is fluent in English and Somali.  When he is not at work, most of the time you will find him at YWCA gym and swimming pool.

Farah Del

Farah Del joined our team June 2017. He previously worked with Community Action Partnership of Hennepin County as Asset Housing Advocate where he helped client with Asset Management. Prior to that he was Personal Loan processor for Wells-Fargo Bank Farah has associate degree in Business Management from Nova College in Virginia. When his not at work he likes to spent time with his family.

Sahra Othman

Sahra Othman Joined our team in July 2017 as Refugee Social Service counselor. Previously she worked as Family Advocate for Head start for 3 years working with homeless families. Prior to that she worked as employment counselor for Grassroots Community Solution where her focus was on Youth and family empowerment. When she is not working Sahra is passionate about event planning. Sahra is pursing social work degree at MCTC.

Idil Mohamed joined our agency in August 2017 as Receptionist. She has experience working as customer services in Retail industry. Idil loves to volunteer because it has given her chance to learn and grow. She also love nature and want to walk along the park in the summer.

Mohamed Abdulahi

Mohamed Abdulahi started working for African Community Services in January 2018 as Intake Coordinator. Mohamed is pursing Computer Engineering at Metro state University. Mohamed role is helping client find employment and enroll client into SNAP program. As Tony Robbins say “Nothing in Life has any meaning except the meaning you give it” The meaning I give to my client is to advocate for them. When he is not at work you will find him in the gym working out.

Samia Abdulkadir joined our team in June 2017 as DEED employment Counselor. She is currently student pursuing a degree in Education and a minor in International relations.  “ I started as a receptionist but was eager to learn other programs.” She said. I was quick learner and was immediately promoted as Job counselor. Her role is to assist clients find stable and nice paying jobs. On my spare time she like to spend time outdoors hiking, running, writing, and volunteering.
