Services Overview

Assists at-risk families with social service referrals, school enrollment, housing, household goods, mediation, translation, parenting concerns, transportation, and other basic needs.
Eligibility: All people, regardless of nationality or immigration status.

Family Advocates perform In-Home Parenting activities for at-risk African parents and children. Eligibility: Referrals from Hennepin County Child Protection Services Social Worker.


Refugee Employment Services (RES) provides resume preparation, interview coaching, workforce readiness, computer lab facilities, work skills upgrading, and job search, placement, and retention services to refugees and asylees.Referrals are made through MFIP and DWP counselors, or individuals may walk-into speak with a Job Counselor. Eligibility: Persons with or without dependents must have arrived in the U.S. within 5 years.

Refugee Social Service (RSS) assists new arrivals with socials service referrals, translation, interpretation, housing, household goods, social security forms, school enrollment, applying for county benefits, and other basic needs.Eligibility: Persons with or without dependents must have arrived in the U.S. within 5 years.
